Cotton sarees are vegan! However many of these sarees that you believe are cotton, can be silk cotton in reality. That doesn’t mean pure cotton sarees don’t exist, they do! In fact, you probably already own one! But please take caution - a silk saree is not vegan. Silk comes from silkworms and since the worm is a living animal, this makes the yarn derived from their cocoon, an animal byproduct. At Nayikha Designs, we offer the option of shopping for Nayikha vegan silk sarees. Check out the “Our Textiles” page for more information. 

Many vegetarians and conscious consumers shop ahimsa silk. Ahimsa silk comes from a cruelty-free process of deriving silk yarn from the silkworm, without using the process of sericulture. However, since the yarn is still an animal byproduct, it no longer makes that product vegan. At Nayikha Designs, we are true to our morals and values and believe that sustainable options should not just be cruelty-free but also 100% vegan.

Cotton sarees come from plants as we all know, however many mass produced cotton sarees come from vendors who use pesticides in the production of their crops. This process harms bugs and other living creatures that surround these plants with toxins. At Nayikha Designs, our cotton yarns are certified. This means that our cotton is collected from sustainable farms that do not use pesticide or harm any other animals in the process of production.

Our Nayikha Vegan silk sarees come from 100% plant-based products that make the saree completely cruelty-free. You can learn more about these types of fabrics by visiting the “Our Textiles” page.

Please let us know via email at support@nayikhadesigns.com about the reason for your return. Reach out to us with this reason prior to sending out your saree. Please note that returning products should be unworn. If there are worn marks when we receive the product at our factory, the payment will not be refunded.

Machine wash is highly discouraged. Nayikha sarees should be hand washed delicately and left to air dry. The vegan silk sarees can be dry-cleaned. Additional care information specific to your purchased product will be included in the package that will be delivered to you.

Please take photos of your product and packaging to include to us in a detailed email. Send us these photos by emailing to support@nayikhadesigns.com. Please allow 3-5 business days for a response from our team.

Shipping is free internationally on all orders above $150.00 CAD! We think it is so important for you to have the chance to order one of our products without having to think twice about pricey additional charges! Our customer’s satisfaction is the most important thing to us!

Customs may differ from country to country, but it is safe to assume there may be a small charge when your product reaches your front door.

Sarees can be worn by anyone! That’s the magical thing about this 6-yard fabric. You can wrap our sarees to your heart’s desire - with different drapes that flatter your unique shape and size! If extra fabric is required for pleats, easily attach any plain fabric of your choice to the inside of your saree using pins and tuck it in as an extra attachment to your saree fabric.
